Unlike most indoor cycling studios, PureRyde uses RealRyder® Fitness Bikes, the leader in indoor cycling that utilizes cutting edge Core-technology to provide an authentic "burn and build" cycling experience.

 

No more sitting staring straight ahead while taking a cycling class, now you can lean side to side, and mimic bike movements similar to your outdoor bike. You can burn 600-800 calories per class, 20% more than the ordinary stationary bike available at other clubs. The RealRyder® bike will challenge your arms, abs, legs, and core muscles, plus providing a great full body cardio workout. The future of indoor cycling is finally here.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

 

Here are answers to some of the most common questions about RealRyder® bikes, and PureRyde Cycling Studio. Please don't hesitate to contact us with any other questions.

​How do I reserve a bike at PureRyde Cycling Studio?
1. Go to www.PureRyde.com
2. Select the "Login | Sign Up" tab
3. Sign into your PureRyde account, create one if you need to, and then proceed with the sign in process. You can schedule classes 1 week in advance and cancel classes 2 hours in advance, without being charged. Walk-ins will be accommodated on a first come first serve basis.4. Select the "CLASSES" tab, Look for classes that fit your schedule and select the desired date and time you wish.

 

You should arrive at least 15 minutes before class to give yourself plenty of time to check in, get ready and adjust your bike to liking.

 

What type of gear do I need to participate?

Comfortable workout attire is all you need to get started. Cycling specific gear, however, can make a great class even better.
​We are a "Clip In" only Studio and have Men & Women's cycling shoes available for rental and purchase, as well as top gear & apparel at our Studio's boutique. A heart monitor may also help maximize and measure every workout.

 

​What class should I try first I'm new?
Most classes can be adapted to any fitness level, so feel free to get started with any class you choose, we are confident you'll soon see why so many others have discovered the excitement of indoor cycling.

 

​​Do I need to bring my own towel?
No. PureRyde towels are available for rental & purchase. However, riders are more than welcome to bring their own if they like.

 

​I forgot my water bottle. Do you have water available?
Yes, we offer bottled water for purchase. It's always a good idea drink plenty of water during your workout.

 

​​Do you have showers?
Yes, we have two private showers per locker rooms, with luxury showers and FREE lockers, we also have a changing room in the studio.

 

​​Do you provide on site child care?
We do not offer child care at PureRyde Cycling Studio.

 

​​What are the age weight height requirements to ride a bike at PureRyde Cycling Studio?
Riders should be 12 or older or at least 4'10". Our bikes have a max user weight of 300 lbs.

 

​Can I rent the PureRyde Studio and the RealRyder bikes for an group event?
We would gladly put together a special group event, fund raiser or party for clubs, groups,churches, businesses or organizations.

​What is a RealRyder indoor cycling class?
PureRyde Cycling is the first studio in Austin to make exclusive use of the revolutionary RealRyder bikes. They are the only stationary bikes in the world that allow riders to bank and lean into a turn. As a result the workouts are more dynamic, intense and incorporate more muscle groups during use than a traditional indoor cycling bike.

Indoor cycling in general has been around more than 20 years and continues to grow in awareness and popularity. Participants, led by a qualified instructor, ride special stationary bikes that simulate riding outdoors. Classes are set to unique music mixes compiled to energize and sustain rides for the duration of the class.

 

​Why do outdoor cyclists enjoy RealRyder classes so much?
When a cyclist is unable to hit the road or mountain for training, they turn to using a trainer. A trainer is a valuable piece of equipment for a biker/triathlete because it allows the biker to train indoors. Unfortunately, this type of training doesn't truly simulate the outdoor road/mountain conditions and, often times is very boring. RealRyder bikes are much closer to the real thing and can break the monotony of training indoors. RealRyder bikes cut down the indoor to outdoor transition dramatically, burn lots of calories and build muscle needed to tackle the next race.

 

Will indoor cycling help me lose weight?
Yes. Indoor cycling will help you shed pounds and lower your body fat if done regularly and in combination with a healthy diet. A rider can burn up to 800 calories in a single class with the average being about 600 calories. It is a low impact fantastic cardio exercise which helps lead to a more energized and healthy life.

 

​Do I have to be in great shape or an experienced rider to get started?
No. Indoor cycling is adaptable to all fitness levels with each rider controlling the resistance and speed of the pedals on their respective bike. YOU are in charge of YOUR ride. You choose how hard to work on any given ride. While our dedicated and driven instructors will endeavor to maximize everyone's efforts, there are no limits or prerequisites.

 

​Will indoor cycling improve my running and/or outdoor riding?
Avid runners who have added indoor cycling to their cross-training routine, often report that indoor cycling "balances" out their leg muscles, putting emphasis on muscle groups not normally used during running. It is also a great way to avoid over-training and provides a "break" from the constant pounding that can take a toll on the feet and knees. For outdoor riders, indoor cycling offers an opportunity to train in ways that are not possible out on the road.

 

​Is indoor cycling safe for people with knee or back problems?
We always recommend that you consult your physician before beginning a new exercise program, however, with proper setup cycling is considered a low-impact exercise, which is often recommended by physical therapists and chiropractors. In our own experience we have found that in most case issues when individuals report that cycling hurts their knees and/or back, those issues are often easily resolved through proper adjustment and set up of the bike.

​I wouldn't consider myself a bike rider, can I get through a RealRyder Class?
ABSOLUTELY! Every rider has different fitness levels and these classes can accommodate them all. Ride at your pace and work within your abilities, and we will make sure you still have time for fun. All instructors at PureRyde Cycling will work with you to make sure that you are comfortable and safe during every class. Don't be shy to ask questions or for help. We are here for you.
